FactoryTalk AssetCentre System Design

Course Purpose

This course provides you with the skills required to use FactoryTalk AssetCentre software to maximize your control system investment and manage assets effectively. Throughout the course, you will learn how to design a FactoryTalk AssetCentre system, install and configure the software, secure access to the control system, track users' actions, manage asset configuration files, provide backup and recovery of operating asset configurations, and troubleshoot your system using FactoryTalk AssetCentre.

Your instructor will demonstrate how to perform all of the tasks covered in this course. You will then be given an opportunity to practice these tasks using a procedures guide and a VMware® image designed to imitate a real production facility.

After completing this course, you should be able to design and implement a FactoryTalk AssetCentre system. You will learn how to:

  • Develop a full, detailed FactoryTalk AssetCentre system specification
  • Configure source and version control for specified files and assets
  • Configure Disaster Recovery for all desired files and assets

Who Should Attend

Individuals who need to securely and centrally manage automation production environments using FactoryTalk AssetCentre software should attend this course.

Prerequisites

To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required:

  • Ability to perform basic Microsoft® tasks
  • Knowledge of your production environment

Day 2
  • Adding and Configuring Assets
  • Backing Up Critical Files
  • Restoring Critical Files
  • Archiving Files
  • Managing Archive Files
  • Configuring Disaster Recovery
  • Finding a System Event Using
  • FactoryTalk AssetCentre Software
Day 3
  • Planning Security for a FactoryTalk AssetCentre System ? Configuring Basic FactoryTalk Security in the FactoryTalk Directory
  • Configuring System and Product Policy Security in the FactoryTalk Directory
  • Configuring Security within FactoryTalk AssetCentre Software ? Troubleshooting a System Using FactoryTalk AssetCentre Software
